I don't know what it is about Unc Pete, but he has cast some kind of baby spell on our kids. My kids are too young to realize they are about to be ousted by Unc Pete/Aunt Sarah's new 'real' baby, but ignorance is bliss.
It all started when Dylan was little, he LOVED Unc Pete. Even though we only see him 2-3 times a year, Dylan has always talked about Unc Pete and Aunt Sarah. It is really great considering they live in NC. We want them to have a strong relationship with both families, and sometimes distance makes that hard.
Then, Olivia came along...and she also loves to talk about Unc Pete like he lives right around the corner. Yesterday, Nana was chatting with little miss talky-pants Olivia. She asked, "who do you love?". The rehearsed answer is 'Nana'. But, this little one cannot be coached into anything. She is SOOOOO independent. She looked at Nana and smirked, raised her eyebrows and said... "Unca Pete". Nana laughed and, of course tried again. Olivia didn't change her answer (all 12 times)....stubborn like mama.

Pete always was the "kid whisperer" - I've never met a kid who didn't LOVE Pete!
