sweet little monkey..

To my kiddies,

Oh, Gray, you are my sweet little monkey. Not sure why I call you that, or why we parents nickname our babies things that will soon be the dreaded names echoed as they are 10 years old 'rounding third base heading for home' all to your embarrassment, BUT we do. And, the best part is...we don't mind doing it. We just look at our babies and naturally want to freeze them. The nickname is one way to do that.

For Dylan it was first Dilly Do. This was inspired by a little song that Nana used to sing to me 'Skinny Marink', except we sing it "Dilly Marinky Dinky Dink Dilly Marinky Do". This was one that Daddy hates, and refuses to use. Now we just resort to calling you Dilly. But, that's mostly used by me.

For Olivia it is even worse, LaLa or LaLaBee. What a mess that is, but we ALL call you that. My little LaLa. I even have several songs that lend themselves perfectly to this nickname. There is the Elmo song, "Lalalala Lalalala LaLa's world." and "Lollipop, Lollipop oh I love my LaLa pop."

And for Grayson, so far I call you my sweet little monkey. Mostly, when we're alone (for now). I really wish I could freeze my life right now with my Dilly Do, LaLaBee, and my sweet little monkey.

Love you babies, and look forward to many years of using your nicknames in public to embarass you all!
xoxo,
Mommy
