We have experienced the grand-event of the Gasparilla parade one too
many times in the adult world. This year we decided to do the
Gasparilla Children's Parade, which is held a month or so prior to the
grown-up drunkfest version. It was quite a different experience, mostly
for the better. ;) The basic parade criteria was still there: beads,
floats, pirates, cotton candy, and blue porta-potties. The beauty was
that it was all geared to the kiddos, strollers replaced rolling
coolers, Capri Suns replaced Solo Cups, there were far fewer people, and
capped off with fireworks at 7PM. Perfect day...we had a blast :)
