Tennessee Road Trip!

Yes, it was almost a month ago that we made the trip...but, how could I not share these gorgeous pictures of what a real season change looks like?!?!? Once again, (I think this was our 4th trip in recent years) we took a few days and made the looooooooong drive to Nashville, TN.  Grandma Joyce has a annual family reunion that she likes to attend, and we have some great friends (former neighbors) whom we love to visit.
(outdoor football fun for Dylan and Daddy)
(Olivia cooperating as usual..but, the boots are cute!)
(look at that bonfire, Mom!)

But, this time was a little more interesting because we had two VERY important ulterior motifs:

1- To meet cousin Raj who would also be making a cameo at Grandma's reunion.  They live in Chicago, we live in Palmetto....all 5 of us on a plane is slightly cost prohibitive, but the drive to meet in the middle made so much sense!  This little baby was such a joy.  He grumbled once or twice when pushing through without a nap and that was his 'fussy'.  His smile takes over his little face and his backwards laugh ALMOST tempts me to want another...phew, that was close ;)

2- Pick up furniture for Grandma and bring it back to Tallahassee. Grandma inherited some pretty amazing antique furniture that needed to make it's way down to Tallahassee, FL.  So, in between visiting with family and friends John loaded a small moving truck with the furniture to take home to Grandma's.  On the return trip, he got a 3-hour head start home and (because he is basically Superman) unloaded and rearranged Grandma's entire house to accommodate the new furniture.  This 'little side-project' has been planned and prepped over the past 2 months.  We have been posting and selling old stuff on Craigslist while Grandma methodically tried to de-clutter and rearrange small items with her ONE ARM all to make room for the new furniture.  See, back in the Spring she broke her left arm.  Being that Grandma is left-handed rehab has been a process and operating with the right arm alone is just slow and frustrating.  But, we got it done!!
