You all know that I'm not super-cheese-mode mom, but I generally try my best to do (a) something educational with each kid everyday to grow their minds, and (b) something physical 1-2 times a day to grow (and exhaust) their bodies. This last 4 days has been no exception, with one MAJOR difference....Daddy has been out of town. This is the second trip in a month, but for some reason this trip seemed so much longer! It could be that Nana was out of town too, which meant ZERO break for me. Or, that he was gone Thursday-Sunday which means a whole weekend, not just the usual weekday trip. Or, it could be my jealousy that made it seem even much longer. (it was
only wine tasting, staying in hotels with maid service, going to nice dinners, running outside in the California air, MLB games, and being with grown-ups 100% of the time...but, for some reason that appealed to me)
So, to pass the time we kicked some butt...very inexpensively I might add!
Thursday- After school we did library time to kick off the new school year, went to the pet store and held a box turtle, hit up Publix for a cookie, homework time, and then made homemade meatballs for dinner with ice cream for dessert (Dylan's special request)
Friday- 2 hours outside after school riding bikes and playing with the neighbors, followed by movie night, book time, ice cream, and bed.
Saturday- Story time, Build and Grow workshop at Lowe's with friends, YMCA to play/workout, Subway for lunch, water balloon war outside with hose and play time until dinner, movie night #2, ice cream, and bed.
Sunday- Rainy day pancake breakfast and playtime at the
beach, grilled cheese 'picnic' lunch in the living room, Toy Story 2
while Grayson napped....now just counting down the minutes until Daddy's
return!!!
PS- I cleaned the carpets and bleached the tile grout during the movie times....I wonder if John will notice right away.
I REALLY NEED A NAP!!
