Brotherly Love

I have to document this story before I completely forget. Yesterday, we made a guest appearance at Nana's office to show off the babies. They were all dressed as cute as possible, and surprisingly on their best behavior. Proud Mommy moment!

On our way back to the car, we took the 'alligator' (Olivia language for elevator) down to the lobby. Well, this lobby had magical machines with candy in them. I couldn't pry Olivia away from these damn vending machines. I really don't think she has ever seen something so magical in her life. She was absolutely determined to get the M&M's out of the machine! As usual, I had my arms full of Grayson and my bag. I tried to use my nice words to coerce her into following us all (Dylan was walking right next to me being an angel). It wasn't working, so I did what most good Mother's do, I threatened to leave her in the lobby. She couldn't have cared less, after all she had M&M's in her sight. So, I closed the door and started to walk away. DYLAN FREAKED OUT! He started to throw himself in between me and the door and pried the door open. "NO, MOMMY!! We are not leaving my Olivia!" Then, he went in and put his arm around her and guided her to the door. "Come on baby girl, I won't let Mommy leave you." When we got to the parking lot she took off again toward the road without my hand. Dylan yelled at her,"I am very disappoint in you. This is dangerous. Come hold my hand!" And she did....I had this all under control, but really enjoyed watching him try to take charge.

When we got back to the car, Dylan was pouting in his chair (arms crossed, frowning, the whole deal). He said to me that he was really still mad at Olivia for her being 'dangerous' and a 'naughty little bug'. He said it scared him that we could lose her. :( Love that kid so much, he has such an awesome heart!
