Driving down the road today I was stopped (going 80 mph) by a firetruck who slowly merged in front of me on the interstate. I slowed to let it over, then realized that we were STOPPING! This was less than comfortable on the downturn of a bridge/overpass, given that everyone behind us was cruising along unaware of the sudden stop over the hill. Once my van was parked in the fast lane with care whizzing by at 80 mph I saw the cause for alarm, there was a woman on the side of the road giving CPR to some poor man laying in the emergency lane who appeared to be having a heart attack. She was FRANTIC, it was so life altering to those affected people. I don't know who she was or who he was, but I know it was pivotal moment for them all. It made me think...I need to blog! Stupid that I turned this into a need to write some words online, but these words are impermeable and if that were me what would the kids have? Gotta document. They will appreciate it.
January has been great. The kids get so much energy from their family and friends, and we have had sooooo very much of that energy. During the first week of Jan the Elder's had a get together (that we hope is annual) in a waterfront house about 20 min from our house. We had all of John's siblings, parents, and spouses/niece for 3 nights. It was wonderful.
We also had some great friend time. New Year's eve, dinner at our house, and more. This is the good life!
