My big 5-year old

How has it been 5 years? Dylan is such a little man now. I think that at 5, emotional awareness really increases in kids. I am no psychologist, but overnight my little baby is now acting like one of the grownups in the household. He is so aware of how things make other people feel. Like when I'm happy or frustrated, or when the other kids are having a bad moment. Dylan is a little more of a peacekeeper than I would have predicted a few years ago. He is turning into an amazing little man. I think we are raising one hell of a little guy, who will be a great contributing member of society...cheesy, yes. But, that's the end goal...right?

At school Dylan is one of the teacher's favorites. She has taken a vested interest in channeling his energy. She takes time to give him extra work and attention to keep him challenged and engaged (rather than disruptive). He glows when he talks about Miss Christa. I have all of the mom's of the cute little girls in class telling me that their daughters have crushes on my Dylan: Leah, Alyssa, Keira, just to name a few. I have seen him play hard to get and work his charm all in the same 5 minutes with each of them. I have a feeling that I have a little ladies man on my hands.

Besides all of that he is the cuddliest, snuggliest 5-year old. He is still not embarrassed to hold my hand in front of his friends, won't let me leave him anywhere without a public 'hug-n-a-kiss', sucks his thumb at night, loves his inky at night and in the car, loves music and dancing, and has a smile the size of the Eiffel tower.

Love you baby boy!
