Dylan is wrapping up his last days at 'school' in preparation for some summer time with Mommy+Olivia+Gray. He will be starting VPK (preschool) on August 23rd, so the next 6-7 weeks will be all about fun and sun!
He has started this funny little habit of lying. It really has caught me off guard because in the past he was honest to a fault. He used to come to me and say things like, "Olivia is crying because I hit her in the face and called her a baby." Not anymore, now it's all smoke and mirrors. I had the craziest experience with him this week (that I will make a futile attempt to capture). He was running around acting crazy like Spiderman attacking the bad guys (all imaginary, of course) in our house. He kept screaming that he was going to "KILL THE BAD GUYS!". This was really, really disturbing to me. So I explained that we don't kill bad guys, we teach them how to make good choices....just like he does ;). He rolled his eyes, and kept frantically running in circles around the house. Then, I heard him shut the bedroom door on Olivia and explain that he was going to kill the bad guys and keep her safe in the room. I yelled asking what he had just said and he replied, "I SAID, I am going to find the bad guys and teach them about GOOD CHOICES!". Then, he whispered to Olivia, "but, i am really going to kill them, ok."
I should be worried, right?
Olivia:
Olivia is in the official, "I CAN DO IT MYSELF!!!" phase of being 2. Funny how when I type that she is only 2 I have to second guess myself. She seems like a little adult in this house, so 2 doesn't seem to fit. I can not dress, bathe, feed, or assist in anyway starting this week. She puts her underwear on backwards and inside out, her shirts and shorts equally as messed up....and then screams bloody murder when i try to help her before i have been invited. It is pretty funny, but I have learned quickly to let her get tangled in her own web of clothing first, or else...I am not welcome to help.
Grayson:
Grayson is now 8 months and 2 days old. He has really started to grow into a little opinionated person, and (although I can't believe I am saying this) I am SOOOO relieved. I really worried that being the baby of 2 very smart, strong siblings he would fade into the background. Oh no, that is not about to happen with Gray. He is determined and independent. He inchworms his little body all over this house. If he is aiming for a target (usually a printer, or electrical cable) and you remove it...he gets PISSED! Screams, cries, the whole deal!! If you give him a veggie that he doesn't like it he screeches like a hawk and boycotts the rest of the meal. If you try to change his diaper, he wriggles his way out of your hands faster than you can wipe his little cute butt. He has started to wave and raise his arms when I chant 'big boy'. And, is SO PROUD of himself when I cheer him on for this accomplishment. Today he started to make this little sound, "nahnahnahnah" when he is annoyed. Sounds like the beginning of the word "NO" to me, and I am going to try and un-train this ASAP!!!
Funny sometimes that we have 3, which is a lot, and our oldest isn't even in preschool. Busy, Busy, Busy here with our crew.
