ISR has begun...

Dylan and Olivia started ISR this week with Ms. Becky. The first 2-3 days (of 4) were....HELL on Dylan. He turned a huge corner today, and went in the water with Becky willingly!!!! The lessons for D focus on holding his breath, kicking, and grabbing the side. This is all about survival...not fun. Which is a good fit considering Dylan is all business (making his fishy lips and all) while doing his lessons. Becky warns us that he could go back to FREAK OUT mode once the back floating lessons begin in a couple of weeks.

LaLaBee....oh, baby....she HATES this more than anything. The first day she was so happy to get in the water and splash. When she realized that she was going to be floating solo and going under she decided that she would much rather be on the sidelines watching Big Bro D do the screaming. The sounds that she makes put me into complete Mama Bear mode...my heart races and I get nervous. But, this is worth it. They say if you teach a baby to float at this age, and then teach them nothing else, that's what they know and remember. And so the story goes if they learn floating before they turn 1, and fall in the water at age 3...they remember the 'reflex' of floating and survive. This is worth it, this is worth it, this is worth it....I tell myself.
